Buying pallets

What types of pallets do you sell?

We supply new and second-hand wooden and plastic pallets in a wide range of sizes and specifications. Our stock includes standard transport pallets, export pallets, racking pallets, lightweight pallets, heavy-duty pallets, Euro-size pallets, square pallets and less-common sizes. If you cannot see the pallet you need listed on our website, contact us —there is a good chance we can source or manufacture it.

Do you sell both new and second-hand pallets?

Yes. Second-hand pallets make up a large part of our range and can be an economical, sustainable option. We also supply new wooden and plastic pallets when a particular specification, consistent condition or custom-built solution is required.

Do you supply both wooden and plastic pallets?

Yes. We sell both wooden and plastic pallets, in new and second-hand condition. The best choice depends on your load, handling equipment, storage environment, hygiene requirements, export needs and budget. Tell us how the pallets will be used and we can help you choose.

What pallet sizes do you have available?

We stock and source a broad range of pallet sizes, including common sizes such as 1200 × 1000 mm, 1200 × 800 mm, 1100 × 1100 mm and 1200 × 1200 mm, along with many non-standard and oversized options. Stock changes regularly, so contact us with the exact dimensions and quantity you require.

What if I do not know which pallet I need?

That is no problem. Let us know what you are loading, the approximate total weight, whether the pallet will be stored on the floor or in racking, how it will be moved, whether it is for export and whether it needs to be reusable. We can recommend suitable options and explain the price differences.

Can you help me find an unusual or hard-to-source pallet size?

Yes. One of our strengths is sourcing pallets outside the most common sizes. We carry varied second-hand stock and can also arrange new wooden or plastic pallets. Send us the required dimensions, quantity and intended use, and we will look at the best available solution.

Can you make custom wooden pallets?

Yes. New wooden pallets can be manufactured to suit specific dimensions, load requirements and applications. For an accurate quote, provide a drawing or the required length, width, construction style, load weight, quantity and whether the pallets are needed for export.

Can you source custom plastic pallets?

Yes. We can supply custom plastic pallets for particular dimensions, load ratings, hygiene requirements or repeat-volume needs. Custom production generally involves a high minimum order quantity, with pricing and lead times assessed case by case, so talk to us early about your requirements.

Do you sell plastic crates and bulk bins?

Yes. We can supply plastic crates and bulk bins alongside our wooden and plastic pallet range. Availability, sizes and quantities change regularly, so contact us with the dimensions, quantity and intended use.

Do you sell pallets in small quantities?

Yes. We can help with anything from a small one-off requirement through to truckloads and regular commercial supply. Availability, collection and delivery options may vary according to the pallet type and quantity, so contact us for a quote.

Can you supply pallets in bulk?

Yes. We work with businesses that require large quantities and ongoing pallet supply. If you have weekly or monthly demand, let us know the pallet specification, expected volume and delivery schedule. We can discuss stock planning, regular deliveries and volume-based pricing.

Can you provide a regular or ongoing supply?

Yes. We can arrange repeat supply for customers who use pallets every week or month. Setting up an ongoing requirement helps us reserve appropriate stock, plan deliveries and maintain greater consistency. Contact us to discuss your expected usage and preferred schedule.

Are all second-hand pallets the same quality?

No. Used pallets can vary considerably in age, condition, construction and strength. We separate pallets by type and suitability, and we will recommend an appropriate grade for your application. For heavier products, racking or automated systems, it is particularly important to confirm the correct specification rather than choosing on price alone.

Are second-hand pallets inspected before sale?

Yes. All second-hand pallets are inspected and sorted according to their type, size, condition and intended use before sale. Because load and handling requirements vary, tell us how the pallets will be used so we can supply the most appropriate option.

Do you sell reconditioned or repaired pallets?

Yes. We have an in-house pallet repair and alteration department, allowing us to prepare or modify wooden pallets for a wide range of customer requirements. Tell us the dimensions, quantity and intended use and we will advise on the best option.

Choosing the right pallet

What is the difference between a two-way and four-way pallet?

A two-way pallet is designed for fork entry from two opposite sides. A four-way pallet allows entry from all four sides, although the type of access can vary by design. Four-way access can make warehouse handling and truck loading more flexible. We can help confirm which style suits your forklifts, pallet jacks and storage layout.

What is the difference between a lightweight, standard and heavy-duty pallet?

The difference is generally in the pallet's construction, strength, weight capacity and intended number of uses. A lightweight pallet may suit one-way transport or lighter loads, while a heavy-duty pallet may be required for dense products, repeated use or warehouse racking. The correct choice depends on both the load weight and how the pallet will be handled.

Can your pallets be used in warehouse racking?

Some can, but not every pallet is suitable for racking. Racking places different forces on a pallet than floor storage, and the correct design and load rating are essential. Tell us your rack configuration, pallet size, product weight and how the load is distributed so we can identify a suitable option.

Do you supply pallets for automated or robotic systems?

Yes, subject to the system's exact requirements. Automated handling equipment can be very specific about dimensions, tolerances, deck design, entry points and pallet condition. Send us the technical specification from the equipment provider and we can recommend or source a matching pallet.

How much weight can a pallet hold?

Capacity depends on the pallet's design, material, condition and how it is being used. Static load, dynamic load and racking load ratings are different and should not be treated as interchangeable. Tell us the product weight, load distribution and storage method so we can help you select a pallet with an appropriate rating.

Are wooden or plastic pallets better?

Neither material is automatically better for every job. Wooden pallets are widely used and often more economical. Plastic pallets offer consistent dimensions, moisture resistance and easy cleaning, and are often substantially lighter than comparable wooden pallets. That lower weight can produce valuable freight savings when shipping charges are calculated by the kilogram, which makes plastic pallets particularly attractive for airfreight. The right option depends on your operation, and we are happy to compare suitable choices.

Do you supply food-grade or hygienic pallets?

Yes. We supply food-grade pallet options, including plastic pallets that are easy to clean and highly resistant to moisture. We also regularly have high-quality pallets that are virtually new or have only been used once. Because hygiene and regulatory requirements differ between industries, tell us the standard your business requires and we will match you with an appropriate option.

Pallets for exporting

Do you sell export pallets?

Yes. We supply wooden and plastic pallet options that may be suitable for export. The destination country, shipment type and importing rules can affect what is required, so tell us where the goods are going and confirm the requirements with your freight forwarder or customs adviser.

What does ISPM 15 or heat-treated mean?

ISPM 15 is an international phytosanitary standard applying to many wooden packaging materials used in international trade. Compliant wooden pallets are treated and marked to help reduce the movement of pests between countries. Requirements and exemptions can vary, so confirm your destination and shipping requirements before ordering.

Are plastic pallets suitable for export?

Plastic pallets are often used for export because the international treatment rules applying to solid wood packaging generally do not apply to plastic. They can be a practical option for one-way shipments, but size, load rating, destination requirements and customer specifications still need to be checked.

Can I use any heat-stamped pallet for export?

Not necessarily. A visible stamp alone should not be the only check. The pallet needs to be appropriate for the load, in acceptable condition and compliant with the requirements of the destination and shipping provider. Let us know where the shipment is going and what your freight company has specified

Pricing, quotes and ordering

How much do pallets cost?

Pricing depends on the pallet's size, material, condition, specification, quantity and delivery location. Because our second-hand inventory changes frequently, the quickest way to get accurate pricing is to send us the dimensions, quantity, intended use and delivery address.

Do you offer discounts for larger quantities or regular orders?

Volume and repeat-order pricing may be available depending on the pallet type, quantity, supply requirements and delivery schedule. Talk to us about your expected weekly or monthly usage and we will put together the most competitive practical option.

How do I request a quote?

Send us the pallet size, required quantity, material preference, intended use and delivery location. Photos of your current pallet or a technical drawing are helpful if the pallet is unusual. If you are unsure of any details, contact us anyway—we can help work through them.

What information will help you quote accurately?

Please include as much of the following as possible:

Can I send you a photo of the pallet I need?

Yes. A clear photo, especially with measurements or visible markings, can make identification much easier. If possible, include photos of the top, underside and side of the pallet, plus the overall length and width.

How do I place an order?

Visit our order page send an email to admin@palletsales.co.nz or call Marty on 021 334 095 with your requirements. We will confirm the available pallet, price, quantity and collection or delivery arrangements. Payment is generally by card or bank transfer on the day unless you hold an approved account with us. Account customers operate on standard payment terms of the 20th of the month following purchase

Collection and delivery

Do you deliver pallets?

Yes. We have five trucks on the road each day, along with utes and trailers for smaller or urgent orders. Most of our pricing includes delivery throughout greater Auckland, and we can also arrange nationwide freight through our transport partners. Send us the delivery address when requesting your quote so we can confirm the best option.

Can I collect pallets from you?

Yes. Collection can be arranged by prior agreement from either of our Auckland yards:

Please contact us before arriving so we can confirm the most suitable yard, make sure your order is ready and arrange a collection time.

How quickly can you supply pallets?

For regular customers and stocked pallet lines, we can generally turn orders around within 24 to 48 hours. New customers, large quantities, custom-made pallets and specially sourced products may take a little longer, but we always aim to supply as quickly as practical. Let us know your required date and we will confirm a realistic timeframe.

Do you deliver outside Auckland?

Yes. We have freight partners in place and can arrange pallet delivery virtually anywhere in New Zealand. Nationwide freight is quoted case by case based on the pallet type, quantity and destination.

Is there a minimum quantity for delivery?

There is a minimum quantity for dedicated free delivery, but we do our best to make smaller deliveries work. We can often combine an order with another delivery or pallet collection in the same area to keep delivery free. Contact us with the quantity and address and we will work out the most economical option.

Unwanted pallets and collections

Do you collect unwanted pallets?

Yes. We collect many types of unwanted wooden and plastic pallets from Auckland businesses. Whether collection is available—and whether any charge or value applies—depends on the type, condition, quantity, location and access. Send us photos and an estimated count for an assessment.

Do you collect plastic pallets as well as wooden pallets?

Yes. Unlike some pallet collection services, we handle both wooden and plastic pallets. Plastic pallets vary widely, so send us photos, measurements and approximate quantities and we will let you know what collection options are available.

Will you buy my used pallets?

We may purchase selected reusable pallets where there is sufficient quantity, consistent quality and ongoing demand. Not every pallet has a resale value, and some collections may involve transport or disposal costs. Send us photos, dimensions, quantity, location and details of whether supply is one-off or ongoing.

Is pallet collection free?

It depends on the pallets and the collection. Reusable stock in suitable quantities may qualify for free collection or have a purchase value, while damaged, mixed, low-volume or difficult-to-access loads may involve a collection charge. We will assess the details and confirm the arrangement before booking.

What information do you need to arrange a pallet pickup?

Please send:

Can you set up regular pallet collections for our business?

Yes. If your business generates unwanted pallets regularly, we can discuss a scheduled collection service. A consistent system can help keep your site clear, reduce handling and give you one point of contact for both wooden and plastic pallets.

Do the pallets need to be stacked before collection?

Pallets should generally be safely stacked in an accessible loading area before the truck arrives. This helps make collection faster and safer. Let us know beforehand if the pallets are loose, spread around the site or need extra handling so we can plan the right vehicle and labour.

Do you take broken or damaged pallets?

We may be able to collect damaged wooden or plastic pallets, but the options depend on material, volume, contamination, location and how they are loaded. Photos are the quickest way for us to assess them. Charges may apply where the pallets cannot be reused or recycled economically.

Sustainability and service

Why buy second-hand pallets?

Buying suitable second-hand pallets can reduce cost and extend the working life of existing materials. It keeps reusable pallets in circulation and can reduce demand for newly manufactured products. The key is choosing a used pallet that is still appropriate for the load and application.

What happens to the pallets you collect?

Collected pallets are sorted by size, type and condition. Suitable pallets are returned to service, while others may go through our in-house repair and alteration department or be separated into appropriate recycling streams. This keeps usable pallets and materials in circulation for as long as practical.
